Frankfurt am Main, October 2017. TANSU is one of the winners of German Design Award 2018 in the category Excellent Product Design, Transportation with Sexy Fish.
The German Design Award is the top international prize of the German Design Council. Its goal: to discover, present and honour unique design trends. Launched in 2012, the German Design Award is one of the most well-respected design competitions in the world and is held in high regard well beyond professional circles.
After the sale and subsequent launch of 39.3 m Sexy Fish (Along with a lovely Neptune from ShowBoats Design Awards) and the recent launch of 38.4 m Highlight, we currently have 6 projects in the pipeline.
39.1 m Echo-R will be launched in June. 43.7 m Cyclone will be launched in the end of July and will be presented in Monaco Yacht Show 2017.
Delivered in 2009, the 20m TANSU “Panacea” with steel hull and superstructure was sold to her new owners last year. It was a fun project, based on our early “Mission Class” designs developed together with our dear friend, Naval Architect Turhan Soyaslan.
She is about to complete her refit which included exterior and interior modifications designed by Tansu and engineered/project managed by Tufan and Brothers.
We would like to thank all involved and wish the owners a great season.
We are happy to announce our new contract for a 34.6 m Tansu Mission Class yacht, code named CV114.
She is designed to suit her owners’ requirements such as a huge boat deck for a Rupert R8 and other toys, a master stateroom on the upper deck, loft style open salon featuring transparent staircase etc.
The owner is a world renowned master craftsman who is a long time fan of our yachts. As usual CV114 is a Tansu design inside out with the exceptional Naval architecture and engineering of our dear friends at Diana Yacht Design.
38.4 m Highlight undergoing extensive speed, vibration, noise, endurance and propulsion tests near Tuzla / Marmara sea. All going great and she made the light ship top speed of 16.1 kts.
39.3 m Sexy has Fish just arrived back in Yalıkavak, Turkey after completing a very busy first season totaling 4300 nm without any technical faults.
Captain Dylan Brown has commented:
“In 4 months including Monaco Yacht Show and a photo shoot in Cannes, myself and my crew are very pleased with the finish and performance of this vessel. During the season we have encountered all kinds of weather, the stand out day being 56 knots wind with 4-5 meter waves crossing the Golf Du Lion, as you can imagine this was not a comfortable day, but she handled these trying conditions with ease, her stability at sea is greatly due to the new hull design which has been evolved from M/Y Nomade. I would like to thank Everyone at Tansu for delivering a beautiful seaworthy vessel and to my crew for all their hard work.”
A massive thank you to Captain Dylan Brown and all the crew – Cristina Opris, Dale Humphreys, Donovan Du Plessis, Valeria Sorochan.

In 1996, Riza Tansu started working with Stephen Seaton on his first yacht 23.60 m Troy Explorer. After an intense preparation period in USA, working on the design and naval architecture with Stephen, Riza started building his first yacht for his family.
Here’s how it all started:
When the 36.4 m Nomade (now Bartender) was exhibited at the 2011 Monaco Yacht Show, the Super Yacht World especially took notice of TANSU. We defined our philosophy with the words “Huge Open Decks / Less Volume” and “Beach House Style” which has since become popular within in the industry and designers alike. Sold within 15 days of being placed on the market, the ShowBoats Design Award winner Nomade was an immediate hit at the Monaco Yacht Show and highly impressed all visitors.
After 5 successful seasons she was still a real Showstopper at the Monaco Yacht Show 2015.
She is for sale and the asking price is Eur 7.8M.

Interior Design award – Displacement Yachts 30-59.99m
“One of the most frequently quoted sayings in the world of design is “Less is more” – Advise that was uttered by the great German-American architect, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Mies would certainly have approved of Tansu’s design for the interior of Nomade, an explorer yacht that was recently sold to the owner of the super-racer Firefly as a mothership, and aptly renamed Bartender. This opinion was shared by the ShowBoats Design Awards Jury, who felt that the elegant minimalism, functionality and practicality of her interior eminently matched her new role. Light and airy interior spaces emphasize her volume, while her modern yet comfortable furnishings and finishes that blend contrasting gloss lacquer with “beach house style” oak floors provide particularly tasteful living spaces.”
Nomade is sold by David Legrand at Fraser Yachts with independent broker Derk Rolff introducing the buyer. The new owner, founder of a successful fashion brand, was looking for a support vessel for his fast sailing yacht, 115ft Firefly. He chose Nomade for her contemporary style and expansive deck areas.
